Thank you for gently articulating the rage I’ve been feeling. Western publications don’t seem to even realise how absolutely racist and orientalist their coverage has been of Qatar. There are problems, of course, but I don’t recall a single instance where rowdy behaviour during Euro was applied as a European problem. And the articles saying “how to pronounce Qatar”. Because apparently we assume everyone can flawlessly pronounce all the cities in Europe, like the capital of Slovenia
